The construction of Anping Reclaimed Water Plant is related to the stable water supply for the industries in the Southern Taiwan Science Park. The construction of the water pipeline commenced in March 2021 by district. In order to reduce the impact of traffic bottlenecks and to ensure the occupational safety of the project, on November 22, 2021, the Water Resources Bureau (WRB) and the construction company held an information session on the advanced shoring construction method of the water pipeline through the bottom of the Yanshui River at the Xianbei Borough Activity Center in the North District of the city. The construction method, schedule, building safety monitoring, geological survey and traffic maintenance plan are explained to the residents around the construction area to demonstrate the three-level quality control of construction, respect for local public opinion and the implementation of public oversight of construction to create a win-win situation for the government, industry and the public.
After the presentation by the WRB, representatives from city councilors’ service centers, the head of the borough and local residents gave many valuable opinions on construction safety, route adjustment to reduce traffic impact and ensure community harmony. In addition to adjusting the construction process in accordance with the advice, the WRB also conducted a safety monitoring and geological investigation report on the surrounding buildings to ensure that the construction of the advanced shoring section is carried out to the highest safety standards to minimize the impact, thus promoting the Anping Reclaimed Water Project to supply water to the high-tech industry of Southern Taiwan Science Park as scheduled, so that the project can be completed on time and in quality, taking into account occupational safety, quality and public opinion.
