(1)The main function of mobile pump in disaster relief is as follows: In recent years, whenever there is a typhoon or storm, floods can occur in the flood-prone areas in central and southern Taiwan. Since the flood areas are usually the low-lying areas of serious subsidence, it is not easy for the flood to vent by gravity, and thus pumps are often necessary to remove the flood water.
(2)Classification of use of mobile pumps (small to medium size, large and submersible): Currently, the government-owned pumps can be divided into three categories: small to medium, large and submersible. The classification and purposes are as follows:
- Small to medium mobile pumps: Pumping quantity is less than 0.3 cms (m3/sec) and the diameter is less than 12 inches. It is applicable to less than 30 cm of water accumulation.
- Large mobile pumps: Pumping quantity is more than 0.3 cms (m3/sec) and the diameter is less than 12 inches. It is applicable to less than 30 cm to 1 meter of water accumulation.
- Submersible pumps: For use in basement water accumulation.
