The government regards the flooding issue related to the livelihood and safety of the public as an important task. In addition to the “major river environment creation project” and “district drainage remediation and environment creation project” which manage the river and district drainage at the central government level, NT$116 billion has been invested in 8 years since 2006 to implement the “flood control in flood-prone areas” to manage the river, district drainage and seawall at the county (city level) in order to achieve the overall flood control effect.
